Today tickets go on sale for our new season as Resident Orchestra at Southbank Centre.
It’s called Salvation and Damnation. Why?
Well, it’s the third of our Six Chapters of Enlightenment, our six special seasons exploring through music the golden age of science and philosophy that gave our orchestra its name.
Salvation and Damnation looks at the challenging questions about faith, doubt and legacy that vexed our composers. How will I be judged? What will people think of me when I’m gone?
We’ll be playing music by composers from Pergolesi to Schoenberg, with artists including singer Ian Bostridge, violinst Alina Ibragimova and pianist Stephen Hough.
Click here to see the music and guest artists for all eight concerts.
Our Spotify playlist includes some of our favourite music from the season.
