You may remember that in March, the OAE Green Team got a bit excited with the concept of a green month, which naturally meant there was an excuse to make cake (we find any excuse to make cake at the OAE).  We therefore decided to have a low-carbon bake sale which would fund the planting of a tree.

The date of our bake-sale coincided with UK Climate Week, and we registered our event for a bit of fun.  Climate Week were also running a recipe competition with Tesco for low-carbon meals and all of us that baked for the sale submitted our recipes.

Quite to my absolute astonishment my Raw Chocolate Brownies won the competition! You can see the recipe here.

These are low-carbon because:
There are no animal products involved
No oven was used to make them
They have a strong emphasis with fruit and vegetables as ingredients
They used Organic products

If you try them let us know how you get on!
