Once again, we look at what’s been pulling at our attention strings in the OAE office. As with the last instalment, I’ll be your guide this time…

Cloud Atlas
Based on the award winning novel, the Wachowskis (best known for the Matrix) have another crack at epic sci-fi storytelling.  Could go either way.  Hugh Grant’s in it.

Kylie gets orchestral
Kylie Minogue’s new CD
will feature classics such as ‘I Should be So Lucky’ and ‘The Locomotion’, only with an orchestra behind them.  There’ll also be new vocals from the amazing Nick Cave. No mention of Jason Donovan though…
which sucks.

BBC to explore the history of the piano
The BBC will be presenting a six-week celebration of one of the greatest instruments ever invented – the piano.   TV and radio shows will  look at the ‘history, mechanics and influence’ of the instrument, as well as presenting some of the people who used it best. They’ll be exploring the instrument from the 1700s to the present day, starting on 14 September until 6 November.
