We can totally recommend watching this on @BBCiPlayer. It features Queen Victoria's piano, which @houghhough plays… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
Classical music hasn’t always been about sitting silently in a concert hall, glugging down a pre-poured glass of wine in the interval and polite applause.
With The Night Shift, we take classical music back to its lively, informal roots with gigs in pubs, night clubs and other venues where you like to spend your time. Enjoy two half hour sets of classical music, played by some of the finest players in the business, without the usual rules.
In 2018, we’re back for our third year of monthly Night Shift gigs. We’ll be rotating between the four venues where we had so much fun last year. That’s the Old Queen’s Head in Islington, the CLF Art Café at the Bussey Building in Peckham, The George Tavern in Whitechapel and the Camden Assembly.
Then keep your eye out for some surprises in the summer, as we look to take The Night Shift further afield.
For the first gig on Monday 5 February, we welcome back violinist Matthew Truscott for a gig featuring Mozart’s charming Clarinet Quintet.
The first four gigs of 2018:
Monday 5 February – Old Queen’s Head, Islington
Tuesday 27 March – CLF Art Café, Bussey Building, Peckham
Tuesday 24 April – George Tavern, Whitechapel
Tuesday 29 May – Camden Assembly
