This week, we speak to Isabelle Tawil…

Isabelle What’s your role in the OAE office?

Development Manager, Individual Giving

What does your typical day involve?

Lots of emails and thinking ahead.

Which mobile number do you call the most?

That of my Mother.

What – or where – is perfection?

Haven’t seen or been there yet but it could be listening to a Beethoven symphony in a darkened room.

Who is your favourite hero from fiction (book/comic/film/opera) – and why?

Mme Ramotswe from the Ladies No1 Detective Agency series because she never stopped being good and forgiving although horrible things happened to her.

Which living person do you most admire (and why)?

My Mum – she’s been everywhere, achieved her goals, done lots of good and is still doing so.

What other talent or skill would you like to possess?

Piano playing/sleeping without having to go to bed.

What do you fear the most?

The death of my parents and sister.

What is the most important lesson life has taught you?

Be yourself and don’t be upset if others don’t like it; someone will, and they’ll be worth the wait.

What was the first album you ever bought?

Jason Donovan –Too Many Broken Hearts on LP was the first album I bought with my own money but Pirates of Penzance was the ‘album’ I first fell in love with.

What is the most played piece of music on your MP3 player or in your CD collection?

“Gratitude” written by Matthew Barney and Björk which comes from the Drawing Restraint 9 soundtrack.

Which OAE concert are you most looking forward to in 2010-2011?

Nov 24th; I’ve followed Malin Christensson since she was a student and it’s going to be a really exciting production!

What’s been the highlight of your time at OAE so far?

Vladimir Jurowski signing my Beethoven Series programme “With Sympathy” or becoming Individual Giving Manager – can’t decide yet.
