Pub Tour – now on sale

Mon 19 Aug 2013

We’re pretty damn excited to announce that, thanks to your donations and support, the 2013 Pub Tour is now on sale!

The tour takes in 6 pubs in 3 cities, and will feature the music of 18th century musical super-star Franz Joseph Haydn

Why Haydn? Well, cellist Robin Michael says: ‘Within a single line of music he can make you laugh, cry, dance and shock you with the most audacious of surprises. You can feel his generous spirit, the music bursts with invention, still fresh 200 years on.”

In the first set we’ll have a selection of some of Haydn’s ‘best bits’ and in the second, a complete string quartet. The exact music played will vary from night to night, so there will always be something a little different about each gig.

The tour will also feature 3 brand new pieces by some of today’s brightest composing talents – full details of who is being performed where below.

Each evening will feature 30 minute sets of music at 8.30pm and 9.30pm and doors will open at 7.30pm. While there may be some limited seating at some venues in general these are standing events.

We recommend early booking to secure limited availability discount tickets.
All tickets are subject to a 10% booking fee. Student tickets are £4 – please be sure to bring ID on the night – we WILL check!

The Night Shift Composers

Fri 2 Aug 2013

The venues have been chosen, the crowdfunding is under way and the composers have been selected.  As you may already know, this Night Shift pub tour is not only going to be taking place in London, Bristol and Brighton, but we’ll also be playing brand new music. We’ve worked with cutting edge new-music organisation Sound and Music to identify three new composers and asked them to each write a short new piece for the tour. They’ve been workshopping and developing these pieces with Orchestra players and now they’re ready for their premieres.
