Thanks to @dallascampbell for such an invigorating talk. We do recommend Ad Astra, his book on the history of space… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…

It was the day after our wonderful series of Berlioz Romeo and Juliet concerts had finished. Our final, and very successful concert, had been in Paris, involving a day trip there and back on the Eurostar. We even had time for lunch, though probably at a faster speed than the French would approve of.

Sunday had brought a brief glimpse of the Eiffel Tower on our way to the Theatre de Champs Elysee. Monday morning saw OAE Education Director Cherry Forbes and I singing and dancing at Lymington Road Montessori Nursery, and playing a pitch game with 2-4 year olds which involved a monkey climbing up the very same tower.

But what’s this got to do with the Zafira, you ask?

Well, my ‘Berlioz’ bass travelled back overnight Sunday, in the fantastically safe hands of Bonzo, our favourite instrument mover, and in it’s big white flightcase. I needed to pick it up on my way home from the nursery. Was it going to fit in with my ‘nursery’ bass?

So, yes, now I know, into my Zafira I can get:

one double bass in a flight box,
a second double bass,
a suitcase of Tots instruments and props,
and my stool,

oh!

and don’t forget monkey!
