What is the value of digital art? Has its value changed during lockdown? What is its worth in a post-pandemic world? The OAE presents a live Q&A with an expert panel to discuss these questions and more.


The panel will be chaired by David Taylor
David is an arts entrepreneurs who has built his career on bringing innovation to the arts, leading him to be named on Forbes 30 under 30 Europe 2018 list.
David is the founder of Yorkshire Young Sinfonia which featured in the BBC Radio 4 documentary ‘Birth of an Orchestra’ and in 2017 became the first youth orchestra in the world to be 100% digital, using iPads instead of sheet music.
As a presenter, David has interviewed Louis Theroux and Romesh Ranganathan.


The panel will include Lord Ed Vaizey
Ed Vaizey served as the UK Government Culture and Digital Minister from 2010-16 where he was responsible for the roll-out of the successful rural broadband programme to more than 4 million homes, the introduction of 4G, and tax credits for film, television, animation and video games, which have helped make the creative industries the fastest-growing part of the UK economy.
Ed published the first White Paper on Culture in the UK for 50 years and currently serves as a trustee of the National Youth Theatre, the Documentary Society and London Music Masters, and is a patron of Kids in Museums. 


Dame Evelyn Glennie
Evelyn is the world’s premier solo percussionist, performing worldwide with the greatest orchestras, conductors and artists. Her solo recordings exceed 40 CDs and are as diverse as her career on-stage. A double GRAMMY award winner and BAFTA nominee, Evelyn is also a composer for film, theatre and television. Evelyn was awarded an OBE in 1993 and has over 100 international awards to date, including the Polar Music Prize and the Companion of Honour. Evelyn is currently forming The Evelyn Glennie Collection with a vision to open a centre that embodies her mission to Teach the World to Listen.


Toks Dada
Dedicated to engaging new audiences with classical music, Toks Dada is a Classical Programme Manager and Curator. In September 2020, Wonderfeel – the Netherlands’ biggest outdoor classical music festival – announced Toks as Guest Curator for the 2021 Festival. Toks is a Board Director at Welsh National Opera, an Advisor at PRS for Music Foundation, and a Fellow of the International Society for the Performing Arts


Steven Devine
Steven is a music director and keyboard player working with some of the finest musicians. 
He made his London conducting debut in 2002 at the Royal Albert Hall and made his Proms directing debut in August 2007 with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. Since 2007 Steven has been the harpsichordist with London Baroque in addition to his position as Principal Keyboard Player with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. He has recorded over forty discs with other artists and ensembles and made many solo recordings including Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier and Goldberg Variations. Steven is Early Keyboard Consultant at both the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and a regular teacher and examiner at many other institutions.
