Born in Karlsruhe, Germany, Simone enjoys a versatile career as a chamber musician, soloist, orchestral musician and teacher.
She started out playing the violin, but switched to viola aged 9 and has never looked back, enjoying the complex soundworld of the lower instrument.
Highlights of her performances with us include the solo viola in Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto no.6, alongside her fellow Principal Viola, Max Mandel.
She also played the step out viola d’amore role on stage alongside the cast in Sir Simon Rattle’s staging of Bach’s St John Passion.
