Purcell at Wiltshire Music Centre

A giant of the musical baroque period, Henry Purcell is firmly established as one of England’s finest composers. In this celebration of this great musician’s output. The music includes a selection of Purcell’s most enduring scores, from instrumental overtures bristling with dramatic tension to joyful songs of celebration from his opera masterworks, this musical feast has something for everyone.
Programme includes: ‘First Music’ from The Indian Queen, ‘Chaconne’ from The Fairy Queen, Overture from Dido and Aeneas, ‘Sound the trumpet’ from Come, Ye Sons of Art and Blow’s An Ode on the Death of Mr Henry Purcell.
