Monteverdi’s 1610 Vespers is one of the towering musical achievements of the 17th century. A fascinating and rewarding musical experience, it is deeply spiritual, yet extraordinarily theatrical.
Following acclaimed performances of the piece across Europe in the anniversary year of 2010, this special live recording was made at a final performance at the Orchestra’s Headquarters at Kings Place in August of that year.
