Our 2026/27 Southbank Centre season is about to land. Here's a preview of what's coming up...
You might remember that we’d previously been so enthusiastic about celebrating our 40th anniversary that we invited more friends than we could fit into one season. In true OAE style we decided to solve that problem by having a second celebratory season. Below we look ahead to what we’ll be putting on stage and some of the amazing guests joining us… although you’ll have to wait a little longer to get your hands on tickets (more below on that)!
In this season, curated once again by viola player Annette Isserlis, we explore the ways in which music is endlessly capable of telling the stories that bring us together. In What the Moon Saw and Other Tales, a collection of short vignettes, Hans Christian Andersen poignantly reminds us that music is unlimited. (His words are often paraphrased as “where words fail, music speaks”.)
