The guide will take a look at music and instruments in the history of art across the centuries, featuring paintings from the collection such as the ‘Music Lesson’ by Titian to the ‘The Music Lesson’ by Vermeer, to ‘Music in the Tuileries’ by Manet and many more.
The tour will also uncover the important role the Gallery played during wartime with the story of pianist Myra Hess and her friends from the world of classical music, who staged daily concerts at the Gallery in the wartime period.
