Bach by Candlelight in Cirencester

We head to Cirencester for their Festival opening night to perform works by the extraordinary Bach family.

In this candelit programme, discover how the high Baroque, epitomised by Johann Sebastian, gave way to the Classical age through the works of his sons and cousins, Johann Ludwig, Johann Christoph Friedrich and Johann Christian. Together, their music traces a remarkable period of transition in European culture, as complexity and counterpoint yielded to new ideals of clarity and expression.
