There is a well-known proverb that it takes a village to raise a child.

It can be well applied to creative endeavours. Over the last weekend (15 – 17 August) it was a privilege to host the community that has grown around our Breaking Bach project to share in the final rehearsals. Family and friends of the dancers and musicians, supporters of the OAE, the wider cultural community and local residents from around Acland Burghley School gathered in the Assembly Hall to witness the results coming together from their years of dedication and nurture. It was an opportunity to run the show in front of an audience, make final adjustments and give the company a rousing send-off before they head to Edinburgh for the premiere on 20 August.
