Join us for a thought-provoking discussion led by OAE principal viola Max Mandel with composers Roxanna Panufnik, Electra Perivolaris and Errollyn Wallen. Together, they will explore the historical context of women composers, the challenges they faced, and the challenges that our composers have come across whilst learning to write for 19th century orchestral instrument to compose a new work inspired by a movement from Fanny Mendelssohn’s Das Jahr.

 

To secure your place, please log into our website and click the booking link provided. The event will be held at Acland Burghley School in Tufnell Park, where the OAE is based – the nearest Tube station is Tufnell park on the Northern line.
