We've chosen our next (super)group of Rising Stars of the Enlightenment. The auditions are finished and we can reveal the four singers selected.

Our new Rising Stars are Sofia Kirwan-Baez (soprano), Angharad Rowlands (mezzo-soprano), Hugo Brady (tenor) and Peter Edge (baritone). They’ve been chosen from an incredibly talented field of over 100 performers who responded to our call.

Rising Stars of the Enlightenment is our two-year long programme for talented, emerging professional singers. The quartet will perform regularly with the Orchestra on both national and international stages, including our residency at the Southbank Centre and Bach, the Universe and Everything at Kings Place.

The new Rising Stars are introduced below.

The programme is part of the OAE’s broader commitment to investing in the talents of the future and supports the artists’ professional development.

You’ll see the Rising Stars appearing with us regularly over the next few seasons. Our current and former Rising Stars have given many memorable performances on stage with us – you may recall Rebecca Leggett and Malachy Frame in the Easter Oratorio last year or Nick Prithcard and Florian Störtz recently in the St Matthew Passion – and upcoming highlights include Bethany Horak-Hallett in The Night Shift on 23 April and Frances Gregory appearing as the soloist in Elgar’s Sea Pictures on 4 June.
