Our Rising Stars of the Enlightenment singers scheme for talented, emerging artists is now open for applications for 2025-27.

Launched in 2017, we take on up to eight singers for each cohort on a two year long programme in which our Rising Stars of the Enlightenment perform regularly with the Orchestra on both the national and international stage. The Rising Stars play a central role in our Bach, the Universe and Everything series; a non-traditional Sunday Service that mixes Bach’s cosmic music with talks on science and mathematics. Taking on Bach’s notoriously challenging cantatas, the Stars will sing some of Bach’s most demanding works at Kings Place in London.

In the last 18 months, members of the Rising Stars scheme have taken part in a variety of projects with the OAE, from international tours and concerts at our residency at the Southbank Centre, to a masterclass with Anne Sofie von Otter, performances in our Night Shift series and events at Acland Burghley School, the Orchestra’s home in north London.

Please read the Information for Applicants document below. To apply, complete the Application Form below and send it to risingstars@oae.co.uk.
